ok this is kind of referring to my previous question that i didn’t get many answers too. i started bleeding and had to go to the hospital and when they did the ultrasound they said i was measuring at 8 weeks and 5 days. when i calculate it up and when the doc. at the clinic where i got my pregnancy test i got that i am 10 weeks and three days. that is 13 days apart and i know for sure that i am not 8 weeks. that would put me at conceiving around the time i took the pregnancy test that came up positive. i know the day i got pregnant so why is my baby measuring at 8 weeks if i am 10? is my baby not growing fast enough or what? can someone explain? oh and if anyone reads my previous question about the bleeding please give me advice on that also, thanks

I had the same thing, I knew when my period was so I figured when I went in for my first ultrasound I should have been 7 1/2 weeks but they said I was 5 weeks and 6 days. It had me scared to death. They had me come back in a week and do another u/s and she was measuring 6 weeks and 6 days. My doctor asked if my periods were always 28 days and I said no they ranged from 28 to 32. He said that I had ovulated later than I had though. I am now 6 months and she is fine. If your doctor didn't seem to be concerned about it then you shouldn't either. And as far as the bleeding I bled up til about 13 weeks and then spotted again at 16 weeks, some women just bleed during pregnancy. It doesn't always mean that you will have a miscarriage.

Congrats and good luck!!

Measurements in an ultra sound is NOT an exact science the measurements will likely be off throughout the whole pregnacy I was told I was having a seven1/2 LB baby while I was in labor. My baby girl came out 4 lbs thank GOD they were wrong!

Don't worry as long as the heart is beating there is nothing to worry about we are all nerves and concerned for our children exspecially during the pregnancy and trust me it does not end there.

sometimes your hormone levels can be high enough just a few days after implantation, so you could very well be 8 weeks. but it is hard to tell this early on just how far along you are by ultrasound. i measured small at first and now she's not only caught up to her gestational age, but she's on the higher side of the spectrum.

First of all, relax. It's early and the doctors are involved so nothing serious is going to happen. Babies grow when nature tells them to. The bleeding is a concern but, again, you either trust your medical staff or no.

they give you 2 weeks either side kinda thing, like for example your due date may be 1st July, but they will expect you anytime from 20th June to 16th July, because your baby will come anywhere in that 4 week period, my due date was 1st July, he was born 21st June but he wasnt put down as early he was put down as term, so they will always tell you 2 weeks behind kinda, its confusing! just relax if doctors say everything is fine relax and dont stress.
