I had my first one for a couple years, but someone stepped on it, but I would assume that laptops can last a long time if you take good care of them.

If your laptop is running fine and does everything you need it too then id say keep it. Most people change there laptop desktop every three to five years.

Unless your needs and requirements have increased, you don't need to change your computer. If your hardware supports it, you may need to upgrade your operating system, with higher security and antivirus etc. Otherwise, your old laptop should be fine.

I have ten year old laptops that still work fine.

Are you still doing the same stuff? if it still runs the programs you need, then you keep running it. There is no magic age where it dies.
