Thanks for the quotes avail_skilz. I'll append them to my Machiavelli file. Got a source? I never did get clear through Mein Kampf and don't really want to pollute my mind for that long to do it.
To answer the question, I've been around for long enough to remember when it felt like only the liberals were doing this kind of character assassination, and it was fun at first when the Nixonian Republicans started doing it. At least that is the way I remember the sequence. Now I say to both sides, knock it off. You can try to build discussion and consensus as a leader or you can build disharmony, disrespect and lead your way to war. You have to choose. Is your end goal competition, war and increasing your personal wealth at the expense of others or is it cooperation and peaceful increase of the total wealth of the world?

1) If your own position is somewhere to the right of Darth Vadar, then even moderates and centrists are 'liberal' relative to your extreme position.
2) The 'us vs them' sports-think approach to politics fostered by the corporate media leads to a cultish approach. A blessed few in the cult are enlightened, but everyone outside the cult is to be mistrusted at best, demonized at worst.

1. I am not a liberal
2. I am not a Bush-backer

If nothing else, people need to respect the post of the President.
People have the right to disagree, but it must be done in a civil manner. All this name-calling is childish.

Why do democrats scream "idiot" at anyone who decides to support bush? It's a two way street that while yes, Republicans tend to be better at trashing their political enemies, democrats tend to accuse republican's intelligence levels if they support an unpopular president. No one is stupid for supporting Bush, they simply have a different view point than you. And why are you trashing your fellow American? I'm not a Bush supporter , but you have no right to bad mouth any group of normal American citizens. And you wonder why republicans do not consider liberals to be patriotic? Right there is one reason why they might be right.

because whats "dared" are rants and not questions.....
for example
bush impeachment
why not support more failed liberal welfare schemes
why not support confiscatory taxation
why not support another liberal vote buying pork barrel project and so on.
there is no screeching here. what there IS...is identifying liberal pap as precisely what it is...GARBAGE.
i see no reason not to call things as they are.

Your right to question the use of the term liberal... since there's nothing liberal [in the classic sense] about the neoprogressives in control of the undemocratic party!

Dude, stop smoking the crack and go to bed like you usually do.
Seriously, you are accomplishing nothing here but making an *** out of yourself.

Cause I AM liberal...so it's kind of like when a baby sees a airplane and he points and says "AIRPLANE!" but instead of flying around I just express my political orientation.

Because liberals never have any facts to back their assertions. Just the same old unwarranted hatred they must have picked up on liberal news or websites since they all say the same exact phrases -- like "Iraq is a quagmire" yeah that's original.
