Ageing, I have never feared ageing. It is the fear of ageing that adversely ages a person. It also dpends upon role models, if you have wonderful highly sociable over 70's around you, then the fear of ageing will never be a worry.
If your elders have lost their zest and become lacklustre then the contrary will be true. Ageing is an illness as many have stated. There are persons in some societies who are 80, 90 + but have firm skin and look adolescent ..! Unfortunately they have aged within so their outlook is warped or stagnant. I feel it is when we cease to facilitate or apply our imagination in everyday life, and merely function. we become old.
The vitality and flamboyance of youth, thebeauty and dignity of the worldly and mature. The insecurity and fearfulness of youth, the experienced and confidence of those that have lived well. All ages have their positive gains, and setbacks.
The eternal child within us all. No matter how strong powerful and worldly we become this little child that clings to us all, detached from its creators umbilici, strives forthat ultimate peace and security of its patriarchs fold.
Life is like that.
Be Loved and Evergreen.

Every day I think of my age, remembering how when I was younger I thought my current age was so old and now every day I count when my birthday is coming up and I estimate how many years I have left before I am placed in a coffin for eternity never to see the sun again, to be devoured by maggots in the darkness of the deep earth. Why do we have to have such a fate?

OMG! ALL the time. There are lines around my eyes I swear weren't there yesterday.
I swear last night I went to sleep next to my 18 year old boyfriend and this morning woke up to my 30 year old husband that looks everyday of it...
And the other day I was looking in the mirror with my newborn, our faces against each other, and I just couldn't believe how old I looked compared to him. I haven't been able to look in the mirror for extended periods of time since.
At least not until the evil spell that has been cast over me has been lifted and I get my dewy skin-tone back...
What?! there are no evil curses? Oh crappity crap.

When I see a nice looking lady and I realize that I am old enough to be her father. Very depressing. I don't feel old at all. Also the music I like is considered classic and the new music sounds really bad to me. What happened to Rock N Roll music?

Every time I think about the next class reunion, when my oldest son started high school (I'm the parent of a high schooler??!!), my baby started kindergarten, see "little kids" you know driving around in cars, ... OK, now I'm going to have to write in about being depressed!
