Because of wrong perception.
Villages, Forests, Hills, Sea, Waterfalls, Ancien ruins, Archeological monuments are the places where every ony go for travelling.

Hardly 20% of travellers go to a city for travelling !!

This is interesting question. I do not know why u say this is called travelers paradise, but I found a reference to it on Wikipedia's web site. Listed below is what Wikipedia says about Mysore. When I entered 'India > traveler's paradise' into yahoo search, it came up with Ladakh. I have been to Ladakh on vacation and it is such a 'touristy' kind of place. Hope this helps.

Paradise means you get what you want, and this is absolutely correct for India!

It is a vast country..
from near equator to above tropic of cancer..
from highest rainfall(Cherapunji) to desert of Rajasthan...
from religion to age old culture.......
from 5 star hotels to road-side chaiwala...
from mughal to current history....
from lions(gir) to tigers(sundarbans)...
from handicrafts to laptops...
from boat cruise to mountaineering...
from pedal rickshaws to limousines...

here all of traveler think present .like hill,sea,beach,desert,agricultural land,various different type of people, culture, custom,color,costume,etc.
