I have not seen any candidates that really turns me on for this upcoming presidential election in the U.S. At best they are just routine politicians that just want to be elected to the highest office. I do not see that outstanding leadership qualities that really makes me want to get out and vote. In fact I dont know if we have anyone with the necessary leadership qualities that we need in this troubled economical, foreign policy area, or domestic policies that would guide us towards a resolution to the many problems that this great country is undergoing at present. Where are the Harry Truman's, Roosevelt's, Patton's, McArthur's, I just dont see them. Perhaps McCain's father would have been one such candidate, but, I dont see his father in him. But I guess if he is the only one we got to work with, then he must be the man.

Rudy Giuliani is without a doubt the best we have running. He is a no nonsense leader who has the "you-know-whats" to carry out what he says. Nobody thought that New York was manageable yet he cleaned the whole place up and on 9/11 he showed courage and nerves of steel in the midst of chaos.
BTW, only 10 states have a population greater than New York. Rudy governed more people than most governors ever did and succesfully.
Also if we are looking for choir boys to be our presidents we are in deep kimshi.
You might be interested in this about Churchill
Winston Churchill was one of the most important political figures of the last century. His leadership and inspirational rhetoric were indispensable for both his own United Kingdom and our United States as the world faced seemingly certain imprisonment at the hands of the Axis Powers. Not known at the time was that, as a young man, Churchill was once unfaithful to his beloved wife, Clementine. Churchill always regretted what he had done and adored his wife. Had some "enterprising" tabloid "journalist" or a blogger with a camera phone found and published evidence of that single indiscretion, Churchill's political career would have likely ended and the world would have been denied his leadership.

The guy that stands head and shoulders above everybody is Senator Christopher Dodd D-Connecticut
The man is a 5 term US Senator that has the education , pedigree and experience to do an incredible job as POTUS
Sadly we like electing people on their star power rather than their actual ability

None of the people you mention would be allowed to hold and/or keep office in the current PC climate. A real leader needs to be honest about what is really in the best interest of the country as a whole, and not have to pander to myriad interest groups. Another problem is the insane amount of time and money needed to mount a modern day campaign. One has to become a professional politician to survive a campaign, and even candidates who had good intentions to begin with end up so beholden to monied supporters that they are hopelessly compromised, by the time they take office.

McCain and Huckabee....or Huckabee and McCain
One of those will be the winning ticket
Those are the only two men out of all the men from both Dem and Rep. parties who will stand up for Family Values.
And McCain has a good foreign and terrorism outlook.
IMO, those two will be in the White House next year

I have a degree in Political Science and have followed elections fervently since the early 80's.
The one candidate for Pres that confounds me is Mike Huckabee. I listen to him and he has Ronald Reagan sincerity, calmness of George H.W., the energy of Bill Clinton and the tongue of Billy Graham.
Am I so cynical, that I cannot believe a good man could run for this office, let alone win?
You hear people attack him and it is all petty ****. I have heard him give reasonable explanations for the minor dirt people have come up with.
He has a couple of views that concern me, but all and all, I think he could be the right man for the job.
Right after he died, they kept talking about the steadying force Gerald Ford was and I think Huckabee could bring that to the table.

I don't see anyone who I want to vote for.
Went to the DMV yesterday. There were some guys who wanted me to sign some Lyndon LaRouche crap. Is he running again? Guy has been running in every election that I can remember. Didn't know the old fraud was still alive until yesterday's encounter.

I didn't know politicians were supposed to turn people on.. It's not about turning people on, it's about doing the right thing for our Country. I'm sure there is a person out there who will stand up for our Country. (I don't want anybody to turn me on)
I want a leader who is not afraid to stand for their beliefs
