I was offered a job at the Green Mill and i start in a few days. I figured it was going to be a full time position but i was told it was only going to be part time when I got hired. I took it anyway because I need a job. I just graduated from college and am living on my own and will have to pay off loans. everything is so expensive where I live.

I applied to a ton of places and am still waiting for "thee job" but all I am getting is waitressing offers so I am taking what I get so I don't end up on the streets. Now I have a possible offer at Red Lobster. Is it possible to take both jobs? what conflict could arise from it? Have any of you taken 2 waitressing jobs or two similar type jobs before?

Conflict could certainly arise if you don't keep your schedule straight! But that could happen with any two jobs you have to juggle. I don't think working for two different reasturants is a problem...unless one of them makes you sign a waiver saying you won't be employed or become employed by another reasteraunt within X amount of miles or within X amount of time working with them. If they don't make you sign anything it isn't any of there business where else you work. If they ask you don't have to say anything. For all they know you could work at a drug store....

Just make sure that the two schedules do not clash with each other. There is no law against having two different waitressing jobs. (There is a law in the financial industry on having a job(s) with the competition).
If they find out simply tell them that you will be out on the street if you don't have the second job. You are very smart to take what you can get to get things paid off. I wish you all the best in breaking into your chosen career as well.

I've been a server and bartender for years and I have held 2 serving jobs before, but we work hard enough already. Trying to keep 2 wore me out really quick. Plus, if they have different uniforms or if you get a spill on your clothes (which happens all the time) you have to bring extra cloths. My advice would be to keep the one that will give you the most hours and the better chance at better tips.

Many people have two part time jobs. I don't think they can get mad at you if you are doing your job well. The only possible problem I could see is scheduling conflicts.
