"Politically Correct" has got to be one of the the biggest oxymorons there is. There is nothing correct about politics; it's all about maneuvering and manipulating. To put that title on how we should behave is shameful.

The filter society uses called "Political Correctness" has done more damage than good. At one time we were able to teach our children right from wrong with the discipline method we felt best for that child and the situation. Maybe it was a spank on the bottom, a slap on the hand. Now, it seems we have to run all our thoughts, actions and instincts through an artificial filter the ACLU has created. What if we don't agree with them? Seems as though it doesn't matter anymore--someone is going to get sued--or worse yet their children taken away from them.

We have stopped using the naturally ingrained common sense we were born with for everything from raising children to dealing with day-to-day issues. A well adjusted person isn't going to yell racial slurs or call someone out for being fat. We've given away our personal responsibility in favor of allowing the government and lawyers to take over the running our lives.

It's frustrating when I see a child throwing a tantrum and the parents stand by and talk to the child about it being right or wrong. It's frustrating when I see more and more school shootings that could have been avoided by allowing parents to guide their children the way they know is right.

We have traded in common sense for this over correction of a small problem. I won't deny there were cases of child abuse at the hands of parents, but I don't ever remember this much violence, hatred and loss of respect among our children.

It's time to kick this nonsense to the curb. Remember when a child feared what bad behavior resulted in--remember when there were NO school shootings?

What is politically correct or incorrect changes so frequently that one is hard pressed to keep track, You never will, I tried, I failed, so I quit.
One has a moral obligation to one self and to society as a whole to change what strikes you as wrong, if you can.
Like small children, we all want to be "cool". Wearing, saying, doing what our peers deem appropriate. That does not make it right however. It is "politically incorrect" to tell crude and mean jokes about women, it is not wrong however to joke about your wife or sisters "need" for a new hair style or new shoes. This is (within bounds) an expression of love.
To lie in the sun, naked is politically incorrect, it rankles some. It is not wrong however, it nourishes your soul and harms no one. To yield to political pressure would deny this right to your self and to others. Quite obviously, you would try not to do this in a way that would unduly offend others. To give up your beliefs and deny the core values in your heart would be to give up your soul.
My soul does not come so cheaply.

I'm worn thin with political correctness. I come from an era where we called it what it was. I still prefer it that way!
