I think it is extremely disrespectful to burn the flag. Countless millions have lost their lives fighting for and under the U.S. flag. American soldiers and pilots have fought with that flag on their arms and uniforms for years and to burn it simply because you don't agree with a few of our policies shows the utter unpatriotism of the burner. The only time the U.S. flag should be burned is at it's retirement and destruction under legal and moral circumstances such as removal and replacement.

We have the freedom to burn the flag in this country. We do so as a respect for the flag when we retire a flag. Liberals and leftists think they are making some bold statement by burning the very symbol of freedom. Like a child who throws food on the floor just to get attention, not realizing all they have to do is say "Mom". It IS disrespectful and Anti-American. They do it in the guise of hatred and rebellion. I can't say I entirely put all blame on them... they do not know and have never learned respect for this great nation or how to go about making change the right way.... the respectful way... the classy way. But then look at their leaders... they shriek from the podium like children on the Senate floor calling our elected President a liar and a traitor... calling our Generals liars and our troops murderers. I guess that "crap" just trickles right on down.

Burning the Flag is supported by the same lemming left loons that support abortion ! Neither the Flag nor an aborted baby have a chance to use their right to "Free Speech" !! One might also ask , what words of protest is the Flag using in it`s "free speech right" while burning ? What words of free speech does the aborted baby get to utter while being ripped from it`s mother`s womb ? Free speech is just a cover up excuse / phrase used for treasonous cowardly act`s by self centered unimportant fools that want their 15 minutes of "Shame" !!

It is a demonstration of disrespect and lack of appreciation towards this great nation in which we live. The flag represents our freedom and liberties which have been earned by the sacrifice and dedication of countless patriotic souls who gave their lives selflessly to build what we have today. Those who burn this symbol of our heritage not only represent those who would abolish all that the flag and this country stand for but moreover those living within this country who, under the guise of freedom speech, commit such an act symbolize and represent a seditious, treasonous element of our society intent on the institution of suppression of the freedoms which allow them to freely commit such a heinous act of cowardice.

I think that burning the flag is the ultimate disrespect, not only to our country and the men who died for her, but to every American, living and dead.
If anyone were to burn the flag in any other country, they would likely be arrested for treason, but here we give people the right to express themselves.
The very fact that we give them the right to do this is a gift that is uniquely American.
I believe that anyone who does this ought to be offered a one way trip to anywhere they want to go, as long as they stay there. Perhaps if they have to comply with the more restrictive laws elsewhere, they would come to appreciate what they have given up.
If someone doesn't like this country, they are free to leave, and they ought to.

If you go to a store purchase a "flag" and want to be an idiot and burn it and thereby burning the money you paid for that flag you are an idiot, but anti American I don't believe so. Being stupid is not being anti America if it were everyone who had an illegitimate child out of wedlock would be anti American. Every person who believed what a politician said would be anti American. Everyone who trusted Oprah or people like her for guidance would be anti American
Burning the flag is not anti American its just stupid

It is the symbol of our country. Many men have carried, and upheld our flag in battle and died doing so. I believe it is not only disrespectful to our country, but to those who have held her so dear.
The flag raising at Iwo Jima, the pictures, and the statue commemorating this event, still brings tears to my eyes. Ask any service man or woman, and I am sure the answer would be burning "Old Glory" just for the fun of it, is the ultimate in disrespect, and disgrace!

A symbol of freedom of speech? No. I see it as a sign that the burner cannot use the mouth that God gave him to verbalize his discontent with America. So much so that he must sink to the low-life and disrespectful stunt of flag burning to express himself. Such a person is neither worthy of my respect nor worthy of my attention.

It's a symbol that can be used to show that you don't agree with the direction the country is going. It's symbolic. Freedom of expression is our most important right. It allows us to speak truth to power and stand up for what we think is right without fear of repercussions from government. We are a democracy, the government works for us. The flag is merely a symbol of that. Burning the flag is no more disrespectful than southerners displaying the confederate flag. The only thing that is truly anti-american is sitting down and abiding by the standard quo when you know it's bullshit. Silence, apathy and aquiesence are the things that lead to the end of democratic rule, the most important thing our founding fathers gave to the world.
