Yes, the Amana Colonies are very quaint and they have great German food and wine. There's the Bridges of Madison County. Living History Farms on the west side of DM. Field of Dreams might be outside 150 miles, but it's neat. Iowa City is about the most diverse city in Iowa, and also the first capitol. Oh, and the Science and Art Center in DM. Adventureland or the Iowa State Fair in the summer. And the Botanical Gardens in DM, they're adding on to that right now. Okoboji is further than 150 miles, but the lake is beautiful. I'm sure there's more I know, but my brain is stuck right now.

Hit up at this site www.TripAdvisor.com

Look for Iowa and there's forums there, along with attractions listed and hotels reviewed by others. It's a cool site.
