I think they were spot on.....How could they have known ? Did they see the "meek" as we see them today ? What do you think ?

It is in the bible and Jesus said in in the sermon on the Mount. Meek can mean humble and not self aggrandizing or can mean cowed. I think Jesus meant humble ( he described himself as meek), but today it is often taken to mean cowardly and not standing up for what you believe in..

In the book of Psalms. Chapter 37 vs 11 David wrote "The meek ones themselves will inherit the earth and they will indeed find their exquisit delight in the abundance of peace". And in Matthew 5:5 Jesus said "Happy are the mild tempered ones since the will inherit the earth." Matthew 5:5 is often translated to read "the meek" which in essence means the same thing.

The meek shall inherit the earth is one of the sayings in Jesus' Sermon on the Mount.

This is a quote from the character Jesus in the book the Bible.
The Bible is full of stories about Jesus being an advocate for the impovershed.

I believe that was a quote out of the Holy Bible, as is Judge not lest yea be judged
