I want to get into teaching but my GPA is only 2.0

I'm looking for schools in California or near New Hampshire.

One way to raise that GPA is to go to your local college and take advanced classes non-degree. Maybe English classes that interest you would be good- if you hated Chaucer, avoid that period. If you love Shakespeare take a course on literature of that time. This will help you do better.

Even 2 or 3 classes will show that you are more serious and ready to do academic work. Some schools may even let you do an MS level class non-degree to see if it's for you. If you do well it shows you can make it in the program.

Full-time college isn't for everybody, by the way. Maybe taking one at a time while working will be the way to go. You use the time to research grad schools and find an MSED that has a minimum GPA requirement of 2.5. They may be forgiving, especially if you show better work and have held a job.

Teaching is not only about knowing the material well, but about being able to work with the students- how they respond to you, how you convey information, etc. Also consider shadowing a teacher for a day before enrolling in grad work. This will give you a good sense of whether you want to invest in the MS.

Lots of people have a low GPA at age 21, then get it together later and go on to do graduate work.

Good luck.

Teaching may not be the ideal profession for you if you barely got through college yourself, I'm afraid, and I don't think you will be able to find a respectable school which would accept you.

With a 2.0, graduate school isn't in your future. How far into undergrad are you? Is there time to get those grades up?
