Pretty vague I know but guy is doing drugs, girlfriend and friends start to worry, outdoor party ends in gun fire, guy passes out on girl in backseat before sex, friends do intervention, guys runs out and runs his car over cliff. I am thinking 90's possibly early 2000's.

What it made me think of is TV show from the 90's.. .. Life Goes On
In one of the season finales Becka's "ex" boyfriend Tyler ends up drunk and driving off a cliff.. (and I know they did the intervention bit.. and a party)
