Whatever you choose to put on her ipod make sure you, the parent, listen to it first.... Really listen to it. Some of the words can be really raw and I wouldn't want a 2nd grader to be exposed to a lot of modern lyrics. Are there any songs she likes that she sings/hears in school? Besides contemporary music you might want to consider folk music and even some light classical music. You might research the connection between listening to Mozart and increased mental capacity. Different genres of music stimulate different portions of the brain. Music with a fast driving beat (close to the rate of the child's heartbeat) will stimulate the lower/primitive/basal brain and excite a child physically whereas classical/more complex music will stimulate the upper part of the brain. Once you've loaded a good mix of age appropriate music into the device be sure to check the volume on the iPod. It doesn't take much to damage the eat. Once hearing is lost it's gone and much of today's music (and life in general ie: lawn mowers even) is too loud.

all and multiple does. There are songs that supply a "soundtrack" to someone's' existence -- a song that grow to be playing on an identical time as they had their first kiss, a song that comforted them after 9/11 (or the Challenger, or possibly as Kennedy grow to be assassinated), the song for the highschool senior prom ("We could in no way bypass this some time past" via Seals & Crofts grow to be very commonly used for that contained interior the 70s). There are songs I do play for nostalgia's sake, yet I additionally prefer to hearken to song in the previous i grow to be born for historic and learn purposes.
