If so is this a problem? Why?
Do you think paying them more may persuade them to be more conservative?

I think generally teachers are liberals and I do not think paying them more will change this. I like to believe and think it is true that dems/liberals are usually well educated. I think if you are well educated you have to be a liberal otherwise you probably are uncompassionate for humanity. AKA evil. Pay the teachers more they deserve it!

I do believe it is their job not to let on what their political beliefs are unless they are college professors.

At the college level it is very depended on their field of study. In the social sciences except for economics the majority are moderate to liberal , but economics has a lot of conservatives also. This probably carries over to the high school level . For other subjects and grammar school, there is probably more people on the liberal side because teaching is a service job that would tend to attract people who want to "serve" society, while conservatives would be more attracted to business oriented occupations which they see as more valuable.
I don't see this as a problem because parents have far more influence on their children than teachers and most teachers are not strongly political and do not bring politics into the classroom. If having a majority of the teachers liberal would make students liberal, there would not be any conservatives left by now.

As states have offered more and more incentives like loan forgiveness the quality of instruction and instructors has spiraled out of control. Today in many states a person can get a 4 year degree, teach 4 years (with little oversight), and have their loans forgiven. Then they go on to do whatever they had planned initially.

Because the government has never put the money where it really belonged and gotten control of corrupt administrations we are stuck with this current crop of teachers who don't care about teaching. With them being new college grads most of them are still in their early 20's and therefore more likely to have a liberal viewpoint. They are certainly not likely to leave their politics at the door.

Not really. I've encountered majorly conservative teachers, marjorly liberal teachers, and everywhere in between. It might depend on the class, what type of teacher they are (high school, college, etc.), what kind of school they teach at, and what kind of life experiences they have had. Money doesn't necessarily make someone more conservative. There are wealthy liberals out there believe it or not lol.

There is a high percentage of liberals in the teaching ranks. It is a problem because propaganda works. Even if it is never done consciously, the majority of teachers voice the same opinion. Many times the liberal view is the one endorsed as truth by professors. A little balance would be proper. Students need and deserve to hear all sides of an argument. Not one side presented as the only sane, rational 'truth.'

This could be a large reason. Teachers do not get paid too well, so they have a right to be angry that their hard work in paving the future for children is getting about .0000000001% of the pay CEO's are getting.

Most of the teachers I have encountered are moderate or unwilling to intentionally bring their politics into the classroom so that we can make up our own minds.

Do not believe Faux News telling you that children are being brainwashed by Ward Churchills in your local schools.

I wouldn't say that all Teachers are Liberals, but I have to say that alot of them are. I think it's purely their interests. Liberals tend to advance programs that increase pay of teachers and that's why they vote their interests

I am a retired teacher.

Your have every political persuasion under the sun teaching in the classroom.

Every decent teacher leaves their political and religious beliefs out of the lesson plan.

Some don't, and those should be called on it!

Yep...most of them are not paid very much, and the lesser-paid tend to be "liberal," as you guys define it.

I don't remember teachers throwing their political beliefs at me when I was in school.
