Among active players, the candidates are: Ray Allen, Michael Reed, Mike Miller, Kapono, Stojakovic, Richard Hamilton & Steve Nash.

However the best shooter in the last few years will still be Ray Allen in term of form.

In term of accuracy, Steve Nash is the winner.

Overall I still believe Ray Allen is the best shooter at the moment.

He can be considered as one of the best in all NBA history.

Candidates for all NBA history will be: Ray Allen, Steve Nash, Mark Price, Larry Bird & Reggie Miller.

The best will be Larry Bird. He is the most confident shooter of all time with Reggie Miller as a close second.

All-time:
Mark Price - perfect form, high %
Dale Ellis
Del Curry
Reggie Miller
John Starks
Dan Majerle
Hersey Hawkins
Glen Rice

Best shooter by position:

Today
PG - Steve Nash (season 50.9% FG, career 48.4%)
SG - Dwyane Wade (season 47.4% FG, career 48.3%)
SF - Grant Hill (season 51.2% FG, career 48.3%)
PF - Dirk Nowitzki (season 47% FG, career 47%)
C - Tim Duncan (season 52.9% FG, career 50.7%)

Of All Time
PG - Magic Johnson (career 50.6% FG)
SG - Michael Jordan (career 48.7% FG)
SF - George Gervin (career 50.8% FG)
PF - Kevin McHale (career 56.1% FG)
C - Tim Duncan (career 50.7% FG, again i think he's a C)

I know i have Duncan listed as a C, but he is really a FC but hell in todays game is what i would consider a C and he shoots very very well to be a big man.

But in reality, the best PURE shooter in the game today is Jason Kapono. The guy has a J like no other....this season he is shooting 52.4% and from 3 he is shooting 51.7%. He doesnt shoot often, but when he does he's deadly.

The best pure shooter of all-time is tough, but im gonna go with Randy Wittman. I mean just from a shooting standpoint he shot 54% for his career in 9 seasons.

The player with the best form that ive seen, JJ Redick. Although he isnt that great, his form is amazing. Just doesnt work for him haha.

To me, it depends on what kind of shooting you mean.

The best shooter in terms of coming off a screen, stopping, and hitting a jump shot is Richard Hamilton (Reggie Miller is probably the all-time best).

In terms of just spot-up, feet planted jump shooting, Ray Allen probably should be given credit for that one.

If you mean creating a shot off of the dribble, setting up, and hitting it, then we can debate a little. I'm a bit of a Kobe fan, so I'll contend that he's one of the greatest at creating his own shot and hitting it. LeBron does shoot a slightly higher percentage, I believe, but I like Kobe's clutch performances, something I haven't seen much of from LeBron. Some may argue for Gilbert Arenas, and I could make a case for Dwyane Wade, but I believe that in the NBA today, Kobe still should be viewed as the best at getting his own shot and making it.

If you mean strictly three point shooting, then you have to consider Kapono, Radmonovic, Redd, and Arenas among the best. Nash maybe should be there but he doesn't shoot them enough for me to warrant putting him among the best.
