If your faucet is leaking, it probably needs new washers if it is the old standard that has washers. The newer designs are washerless and in most instances the complete stem needs to be replaced.

The leaky toilet can usually be fixed by seating or replacing the flapper that coveres the outlet pipe. Another source of leaks can be the input supply valve that isn't shutting off when the tank is full.

No my faucet is not leaking and nor has it been leaking.

But now my toilet does run all the time. No it is not the same problem that CJ is having either. I wish mine was that simple, I would have already had it fixed by now if that was the case. Mine is in my travel trailer that I live in.

Draining it and putting on a new valve is the only way to do the job right. The brass cap on a plastic valve will not last long. Evenually the pressure will build up so high that it will break the entire faucet and then you will end up having to drain the water heater anyway AND you will have a big mess to clean up.

Not anymore. I decided to take it upon myself to fix the leaky kitchen faucet the Sunday before Xmas. My husband is unable to walk at this time and could not do it himself. So... I took off a few too many parts and water was everywhere. My husband had to call someone to come ''rescue'' me. I promised not to try to fix anything related to plumbing or electricity. What a mess I made. However I might be able to fix one in the future....I learned what I did wrong.

The one to the bathroom tub has started dripping but as it is winter now and the pipes sometimes freeze ,it is a good thing and will get fixed in the spring.

CJ Remove the top from the tank and take the rod that the float is on and bend it down slightly. Or you may have to replace the float or the flapper , They come in repair kits at the hardware store.

My faucet drips quite frequently. My cat likes to drink out of the sink. So, I let it drip to amuse him.

No it's not - but the tank in the master bathroom is running constantly and I do not know how to stop it. Any ideas? And yes the tank was running before!
