I agree with you wholeheartedly. I said the same thing in a question I answered last night (look at the individual).
It seems really simple, doesn't it? Almost too obvious, yet all too often...it's ignored.

Men and women will never be equals in all aspects because of the genetics or our race and sex. Males are on average inherently better at some things and women at others. Neither is better then the other and we do need each other to survive for the time being anyway. The extremes in both sexes are basically the same-if the radical feminist had been born male they would be a male chauvinist and vice versa. i just look at individuals and as noted above. I do like the occasional alien though people shouldn't get too attached to them because old wolves are actually the most interesting.

The original point of feminism was to fight for equal rights but in the same way you get a lot of women haters, you get feminists the same.
So many people want to compare and so many people are so ignorant to say 'all women' 'all men' etc, when they can only know a handful of people. You can't group together half of the entire world population into two groups such as intelligence, strngth etc.
Society has dictated what 'masculine' and 'feminine' attributes are. We are all individuals and both have different persoanlity traits, good and bad.
My husband I beliebe there is only pysical differences for pro creation, so we are happy to be individuals and be ourselves. I don't see why other people can't be the same.

I have to disagree with your observation. I don't see "so many women" in this forum stating that women are the superior gender. I think your views on feminists are inaccurate in that regard. Equality and superiority are not ideas that go together. I agree with your observation that people are all unique individuals- and we also have some things in common. Neither gender is superior to the other. I like Laela's answer...she hit it right on the head.

I absolutely agree with you, and it is hard for a reasonable person not to. Collectivism is probably the single biggest cause of bigotry.
The problem is that there are many powerful people and organizations constantly trying to convince people to group together based on arbitrary similarites, and act against the people who don't share these similarities. Often these people and groups do so in the name of justice, or "equality", even though, to an objective observer, they are obviously trying to divide people into arbitrary groups.
A common tactic of such organizations is to immediately accuse people who disagree with them as bigots, racists, or sexists. This "salting the earth" technique is extremely common, and very effective at keeping followers from noticing the flawed reasoning of collectivism. Perfect examples of this are many so-called "anti-racist" organizations which openly generalize "white" people (particularly white men) as rich and powerful oppressors.
Conveniently for them, terms like "rich white men" tend to get tossed around casually. That is one of the most popular "common enemies" that the collectivists try to rally the troops against these days, but next year it could just as well be the "greedy Jews" or "intellectual Asians".
The root cause, I think, is that groups always want to take power away from individuals.

I agree. I've seen some male and female bashers in here and I actually wanted to visit this subject instead of my usual ones because I thought there'd be some insightful questions and answers. It seems they are few and far between, with most of the space taken up with drivel. I shall continue my search for intelligent life, however, since your question gives me hope that there is some!

You can be any gender you want to be on YA, it's as anonymous as you choose. Most people here are exactly who and what they claim to be, but not all. Personally I like the occasional alien's opinion.
I've never been to the women and gender studies area, I'll have to check it out.

I agree with you one hundred per cent. as I said before I am not a feminist I am a humanist. I just want to be respected the same way I respect everyone else. I care for all humanity no matter what is between their legs. That is how it should be not this silly feud that is seriously just so out dated.
No-one is more superior than anyone else, we all end up at the same place in the end. Wouldn't it make this life a lot more bearable if people were just kinder to each other? Instead of trying deliberately to get to one another.

None of the regular feminist posters here say that women are superior. Don't accuse us of something we didn't do.
That said, I agree with the basic premise of your statement. Sexism and stereotyping directed towards men is just as bad as that directed toward women. There is no "reverse sexism"; there is just sexism.

Ain't that the dangdest thing you've ever heard in all your born days; questions like who's better men or women? What are we back in first grade comparing our marbles? Look at this cool boulder; it's better than yours. Uh uh mines lots better, so the argument commences. True there are so many women who do claim they are the superior gender and there are some who do not. I do not believe I am superior. Always keep in fair view that each one is fighting for their cause and tempers can flair with the passions of their beliefs..
