i haven't yet but i was wondering. how did you get a violation? i know some people who get them by stalkers and maniacs...

Two.
Technically, they were violations, but they were far more tame than many things that don't get reported.
1) I asked to fill in the blanks with the correct form of their/there/they're - my grammar pet peeve. I was told it wasn't a question.
2) Someone asked asked what language I'd like to speak - I answered that I would like to be more fluent in Spanish... in Spanish (answering in a foreign language is a no-no I guess).

Yes, I have got a few now that I have asked more questions.
Usually for stupid reasons... only a couple I would accept as rather silly questions but most are from people who have nothing better to do than being self-righteous and nitpick. I have never posted vulgar or rude or hateful questions.
Yes, you are right about "stalkers and maniacs" - there are some around.
You are lucky - so far.

Yah, the last violation I got came without a reason. So have over half the other ones I've gotten. I used to be at level 7

Yes, this is my second account. My last one was suspended after a violation. Well, I received the violation and asked Yahoo what it was for. Rather than give me an answer, they simply wiped out my account for asking! Just lovely aint it!

Well mine wasn't a big deal. I got a violation for hacking a RPG game called DragonFable. Its at dragonfable.com. I used to hack the game to get higher levels, money, and etc. And 1 day they banned me. So I had to make a different account. Yes.
There are users in here who have very thin skins and balk at anything that may hurt their overly sensitive feelings. Others, however, are quite vindictive at any post they do not agree with and feel the need to shut out opposing viewpoints.

my first violation was i think yesterday when i posted a question on how annoyed i was with ppl using the "F" word too much in a sentence.
for no reason i was no offending anyone i got so mad!!!

i've gotten more violations than i can count on both hands and both feet. and i got them because my opinion is rarely accepted in the community! only the odd and eclectic like me.
