I have a friend whose 13 and she sleeps with her parents and she has this teddy bear that she treats like a real human.

Is this normal? I'm starting to get worried.

She talks to this teddy bear and if she loses it she goes crazy. She even does a voice for the bear.

13 and still sleeping in her parents bed. This possibly should be investigate by the department of youth protection. You should speak to an adult you trust (your parents, a teacher, a nurse), because this should be investigated.

I pretty much guarantee that she will have failure to launch! She loves her parents so much she will hate to let go. My brother slept with my parents until he was 12 and he is still constantly needing to know where my parents are. I have a teddy bear but I don't sleep with him or let alone talk to him. It is not normal for a 13 year old to be sleeping with her parents. I would think by now she would want to break away a little and become mor independent. Try not to tell everybody at school because she will get extremely embarassed and most likely not be your friend anymore if she finds out that it was you who told everybody about this situation

Good luck

Hope I helped

What you should do is tape her talking to her teddy bear and post it on youtube and say the only way you'l take it off the internet is if she stops being weird. Of course by the time you take it off the video will have leaked all over the internet. Another option is to embrace what she's doing and when she's talking to her teddy bear tape it and send it to a scary movie audition. Wait those are ways to embarase her and get money. You know just slap the **** out of her and hope she comes to her sences.

Some families don't have a problem with a family bed. I don't eat honey on my peanut butter sandwhiches. Families are all different. Some kids don't like giving up their stuffed animals. Hey, I still sleep with one and it brings me comfort, but if I lost it, I'd replace it, and mine doesn't talk.

I think if you are good friends you should be open to talking to her about it. Let her be unique, but maybe she shouldn't share it with others, because they wouldn't understand.

If there is nothing wrong going on in the family bed, then it's not a concern. Personally, yeah, I think it's weird and I don't want my 9 yr olds in my bed with me.

In some states though, it might be illegal. If you are seriously concerned, talk to your own parents. Let them make the right choice as to what to do.

there could be several reasons for this. most have already been posted, such as insecurity. however, i have another idea. i myself have been recorded acting in such ways, none of the above, like sleeping with my parents or talking to teddy bears. sometimes i act in ways that my friends would find highly unusual as a means of getting them to react a certain way. its almost like a type of reverse psycology. try to act like its normal and she might quit because you don't seem affected.

I don't think there's anything wrong with her - as far as the teddy bear goes, it's her way of dealing with anxiety and insecurities so she'll have it for as long as it takes for her to learn other ways to deal with it.

As far as sleeping with her parents, she's obviously too old to be doing it but I don't think there's anything wrong with any of them, I think it's just been a habit for so long they haven't stopped to think that maybe it's time to stop or don't know how to stop it after so many years.

it's a little strange, but not unheard of. it could just be that she has lots of emotional attachment to the teddy bear, and she's never been made to leave her parents bed, so maybe she isn't ready for that yet. just give her time
