Talk to the person that sits by you. Join a club and/or ask people to be your study partner.

1. Keep your door open if you live in a dorm. People will stop by and see what's up.

2. Go to school sponsored events. They aren't dumb because anyone else at the function is going to the exact same thing, so no judgement will be passed.

3. Join a club. Like Spanish? Like music? Like food? Odds are there's a club for it. Meeting people with similar interests is great for establishing friendships.

4. Ask people to hang out. If you know of an event or place you'd like to go, ask someone you know to go with you. Odds are it will just be a fun time and no real bonding will occur, but sometimes it does, and it's worth it to keep trying until it does.

Hope that helps!

Saying hi helps lol.
Im a freshman at college, and it was easy by having like a lab class or asking for help/notes about the class.

the cliche way is to be one - be a true friends to yourself and to others as well. Your best bet is to put yourself out there where you can meet decent like-minded folks. Anyways, its best to stop 'looking' for friends and lovers, let them come to you when you at least expect it. Don't be clingy or be desperate either. Good luck!
