when you see someone with a lot of tattoos and piercings, what do you think to yourself?

i have 6 tattoos and 11 piercings so I was just wondering what your opinions were.

I have to remind myself to stop staring because I would like to see what the tatts are of, but the piercings make me wonder how they get through the metal detectors at the airport or courthouse, etc.

there CAN be too much of a good thing... I do like tattoos but not when someone has them all over their bodies... a few in select places if fine... piercings are another thing - I really don't like most of those, lips, the huge rings put into the ear lobes, tongues, eye brows, nose, even the top of the ear, sorry, I'm just not into all of that... just my opinion...

I'm 55 years old--the first thing I do is laugh (mostly because they're talking to me about a job!), second I admire them for having the guts to apply for a job tattooed and pierced, third I try to explain that you won't get a job in the mainstream with tats and piercings and tell them how to hide them (I work in the medical field)--after that they're on their own!!!

Depends on how many and where. Some people like myself can have many of both and still look professional and not like a freak. But, some people take it to the extreme. I think if you can't cover them up if you needed to, you've taken it too far. However, some people can pull it off and they're actually very hot with their tatts and piercings all over their body.

personally, i think it's pretty gross to be able to see a lot of tattoos and pierceings. i much prefer just a teeny little hint of a tattoo and only one or two at that and they need to be well done... yuck on the homemade and ugly ones.

but that's just my personal opinion.

Tatts - "Wow! Those must have cost a lot." I have several, and the things aren't cheap.
Piercings - "Ouch! Dang I bet that hurt." And then depending on where the piercing is..."How in the world do you keep that from getting infected?!"

I agree with Sarah.. they are going to look very strange whe they get old. It is like the old WWII guys with tattoos of naked hula dancers, just an embarrassment to the grandkids.
