Us humans are apart of the animal kingdom as well, and we are also mammals, so do we have any intincts or did we ever have them? This can include instincts that we can and cannot control.

We have instincts for survival, for living in groups, for parenting, for attracting mates, for territoriality, and for many other things. We are more animal than most of us think we are. Why don't we like to eat foods that are bitter? Most poisons are bitter. Our makeup, our mannerisms like smiling or shrugging our shoulders, startle responses when we are falling asleep, and many other actions and attributes are important for our survival and success. These are inborn.

The most primative repsonses are generally not in our control....for example adrenaline is a very primative and very fast acting hormone....the old fight or flight response and when you get a fright you have specific things occuring to your body as a response ( although its fast acting its not long lasting and you can control that)

There is the ganglian response, where instead of impulses going to the brain it only goes to the base of your spine. THere is only one left and thats the knee jerk test people do. There is no controlling that one!!!

There are baby responses, like the one where babies cling onto a finger...this is supposed to be left over from when we were in the trees! Its a response where a baby, when falling will outstretch arms and cling onto a branch or mother to stop them from falling.
There is the stroking the cheek of the baby to turn its head towards the breast. Also the way babies hold things is a primative response and have to learn to hold things with finger and thumb....These are all lost as the baby gets older.

i think so. but it's weird, i can get a random weird feeling the morning that i wake up that something bad will happen. and 99% of the time i end up getting hurt. i.e. car accident (ALOT...alot of people run into me, it sucks) But yeah, I will get some weird feeling and sure enough something happens. A while ago, someone wanted me to go out with them and i wasn't feeling up to it. sure enough they got into a terrible accident car fliped, totaled etc... So yeah I believe we have more than our five basic senses.
