No. There's no such thing as a pessimistic person...just a realistic person.

Pessimistic people never expect things to go well so that they are not disappointed when they go bad. They are self defeating and it is sad.
Having a negative attitude towards life is self sabotage and not very realistic.
We get what we give in this world (for the most part) and if we live with personal responsibility and the old adage of do one to others as you would have them do to you and add a little bit of "this could work out for the best and some effort to make things right" the world would be a better place.
My husband is very negative and I am positive and whenever he is being negative I always say "think positively" and he is starting to agree with me more and more. As a matter of fact I don't think that I have had to say that to him in a month or more.
Have a healthy and happy New Year!

"There's no such thing as a pessimistic person...just a realistic person."
...That is so wrong... Its almost like naivety only, in an opposite way almost... if that makes *any* sense... I suppose cynical like her name is the only way to describe it.... Very sad.
Yes I do think there are too many negative people, but they can be happy.... I think being too happy (naive) in a way, is no good... Being realistic with a humorous spin is a good thing, but being down all the time about everything is just boring and sad.... These people can be happy, you can rebuild a soul, but they have to want it, and they have to look for it..... maybe even have a bit of luck is involved in the possess too....
I wish so much happiness for those who are sad for the New Year...

They could still end up happy. They could truly hit rock bottom and have a change of heart. But, yes, there are far too many negative people. Many of them have a reason to be that way. Maybe things have gone wrong for them since they were a child but others don't have that excuse.

I do think there are too many negative people, however; I think those ppl have either have had horrible pasts, presents & even futures. I think anyone's attitude can be turned around if they want to. I also believe there are ppl out there that are truly miserable b/c they want to be. I think they create their own misery at times. Life is what you make of it. either you can be happy....or die trying :)

yes, i believe there are too many negative people (we live in a society where few people appreciate what they have because everything's been handed to them and they just want more; it wasn't like this 100 years ago)
it's possible they'll experience things one day and look at the world a little different. maybe they will become positive people. i'm sure it's happened before. great question btw

No.
Just kidding, I had to say that.
It depends on when and where they are negative. If they are always negative around family and friends I would say they have a serious problem.
But if they are negative on some suck job--it isn't their attitude that has drained their soul--it is most likely their supervisor that did it.

Sometimes I wonder What Will It Take To Make Certain People Happy.
It seems no matter what they will not allow themselves to be happy. It makes you wonder if they ever were happy or did they have a rough childhood or something.
Sorry did not mean to get all deep/emo on ya!

Oh heck yeah! They would complain if you hung em with a new rope so to speak. Nothing will make them happy & yes their attiitude is destroying their soul. If they would only try to change just a little, but they don't want to hear that.I just try n avoid them.

It takes a negative and positive in all we do. The problem is we concentrate more on negativity. television, news, our neighbors, news, news news. If we allow the positive to outweight the negitaive. Life entirely would be sweeter. Blessed 2008 To All

Some people have the will to change... others are set on what they think is right forever, not listening to others whom may have the right point of view. everyone's soul is in tact... just some refuse to make their life better... more happy in some cases.
