Mars is further away from the sun than the earth and also it does not have the atmosphere that the earth does which would help hold any heat radiating from the surface.

Mars is farther from the sun and therefore receives less of it's energy than the Earth. Also, the atmosphere of Mars is much thinner than it is on Earth. The atmosphere can slow the radiation of heat into space, the less atmosphere, the less 'insulation'.

Great question, KEEP STUDYING SCIENCE!!!

Science is a great hope for America and humanity. We should stop electing anti-science religious zealots to high office. George W. Bush is the worst President in modern American history. He is a monumental failure.

two reasons, 1 because it is farther away from the sun then the earth is, and 2 because mars doesn't have an atmoshere that can hold in the heat, so it is colder, like Mercury's night side.

Earth isn't as chilly as Mars using fact that's nearer to the solar than Mars. Mars is a lot farther from the solar and gets only approximately 0.5 the flexibility in line with sq. meter from the solar that the Earth does. And Earth emits greater radiation than it gets from the solar using fact it has a warm, molten center that hasn't cooled off yet.

because of three reasons.

1. farther from the sun

2. low atmosphere (true) but very little effect on temperature

3. smaller then earth and it probably cooled faster internaly. we are pretty sure mars has a thicker crust, although that is untested.

there might be another reason. radioactivity.

Because the distance from the red planet to Sol (Sun) is greater than that of Earth.

Note: Capitalize the letter E of Earth. It is a singular proper noun not a singular common noun. You should start your sentences with a capital letter.

actually the temperature on mars fluctuates. anyway, its colder in mars because its farther from the sun thus, it receives less heat than us.

Because 1) it is further away from the Sun and receives less solar radiation and 2) it is so small that its gravity is insufficient to retain a sizeable atmosphere.

Because it is farther from the Sun and because it has a thinner atmosphere with less greenhouse effect.
