So spiderman came out in 2002 after 9-11... since then it is superhero remake after superhero remake. A lot of the marvel comic superheros came out of poor economic times and wars in the U.S. do you think that 9-11 and the war in Iraq is one of the reason for the influx in interest in superhero movies and why they keep coming off the hollywood lot. Now Iron man is coming out... which I'm super excited... originally it came out of vietnam now they are using afghanistan. My friend and I are arguing about it. He just thinks people are excited to see their fav superhero.

There was the same thing back in WWII, when Superman was in all the movies. When people are feeling scared and helpless, they want a symbol of being able to fight back against the things that make them feel scared, they want a big tough hero to protect them. Anybody who was ever bullied in a back alley has wished Batman was real: he's big and tougher than the bullies and he's on OUR side.

It could be be cause of Iraq.. Or maybe Superheroes have not been hot since the days of Batman and Superman and people like new incarnations of MARVEL characters.. Ones never shown in theatres which is probably why Spiderman is doing better at the BO than Superman or Batman.. They have been done before but in their heyday (Their first major motion picture), they were just as successful in their day as Spiderman..

X-men was before Spider-man. Spider-man had to change their original movie poster because it was a big spiders web between the twin towers in NY. They start making a movie years before it actually comes to theaters. The other super-hero movies followed so rapidly, because studio execs are very detached from reality and lack creative insight so they rip off whatever trend is working for the other studios.

It's a "fad" or whatever.. the first one worked out and they kept going from there. Has nothing to do with 9-11.

Yeah but they are just as crummy as all the other movies Hollywood vomits forth...that town has ruined Super Hero type Comics for me, Silver Surfer was my favorite "hero". Will never pick one up again. It could be construed as veiled propaganda, but there are far more obvious propoganda films being puked up by tinsel town.
