why is it that in some marriages ones they get married, the romance start fading. I remember a couple at an event, they ask them to kiss and it was as if it is a foreign thing to them. why does it has to fade?, can't it last for the entire life with the same intensity as it start? why do we have to arrange for something new can't it be spontaneously?

You lose interest. You can relate this to let's say a kid wanting a toy really badly from the store. He begs his parents for it. Then few weeks later, it's in the closet, and he moves into other things.

Or, it could be the pressure from the marriage that makes it ugly. Work, cooking, children...

It can also depend on luck. Marriage is about luck, believe it or not. For instance, there are couples where their marriage never fade, they form good friendships with their husband/wife. These couples are lucky they find "soul mates," where their marriage is about romance.
Unfortunately, there are situations where there is so much romance that one dies, and the other lives through the pain.

what 'The Man' says is a lie. I have a one year old girl and have been married for 5 years and i'm a size 5! The reason why the romance starts fading in some marriages is because the couple believes that since they have the other, they don't have to work to keep them by being romantic. But, in some marriages there are couples who don't really love each other, more of the thought of having a spouse so they don't want to be romantic.

Some marriages!??!?! LOL you got that wrong it is all marriages. All those people that tell you they are so happily married are lying you'll see when they get divorced. The big mouth liars usually get divorced first. The romance fades because marriage is a lie. It even destroys soul mates. You want to stay happy and in love DON'T GET MARRIED!!! Those cute old married couples that walk hand in hand after being married 40 years curse each other out at home and hate each other. They aren't doing society any favors by lying to everyone!!!

I was actually wondering this myself. I know a friend who is married and they are into polygamy (having several other partners). Nowadays it seems folks are getting married only because of legal issues, money etc. (But ofcourse theres people out there who marry because of love!). But I'm seeing more and more divorce and people getting married for all the wrong reasons.
I think the reason why romance is fading within marriage is due to making such a decision so early. I think if you are going to marry someone you are making a vow to always be with that person FOREVER. To be able to make such a decision, you have to live with eachother and see how you two get along for years!

Now I'm sure stress of having children, relationship problems, money problems is mostly the way romance fades. But if you are married to someone, you originally married them because you wanted to spend your life with them. Right?

Go seek help! Talk to together, you are indeed a married couple forever vowed.

yea..thats my take on it. BTW I'm a young adult.

Well...people get bored frankly. And if you married a person for certain attributes, a person can change and there you are with a person who you didn't fall inlove with for what was really inside.

There are times when you start to see things in your partner that may or may no have been there, but now they have grown and piss you off.

People get busy and marriage can turn into a business where you may never see your partner, because you are both busy working and taking care of the kids...

There are alot of reasons. These are just a few...

When you are dating you don't see each other all the time. You wait for the phone calls and you miss each other. You always look your best when you see each other on dates. When you get married you see each other all the time and when you aren't looking your best. But that doesn't mean you can't keep romance alive. Like when you're cooking together you purposely rub up against each other. While my man is lying on the couch watching tv and I walk through the room, I kiss him and whisper in his ear I want you tonight. No, romance isn't dead after marriage. It's the people that are married lose it.

Because real life is tough and cruel. Some people handle it better than others. The couples who maintain passionate relationships throughout their lives seem to do a commendable job coping with the world and all of the responsibilities that come with it. Those couples (and people, for that matter) are rare and hard to come by. So when you see it in a couple, well, they should really be admired for doing so well.

I think it's because you get use to the other person, and you don't need to try to impress them any more. I think it sad that, that happens to couples. My husband and I try to keep the romance alive. Even if we only go for a walk around the block with no kids. Somethings the best things are the simplest. =)

B/c couples let it fade, the love wasnt real to begin or lack of communication. Some couples have fantasies that they want to fulfill & the other dont relate to them = boredom. Some get tired of the same old two step so you have to change things up / spice things up! Massage, porn, toys whatever is compatable to both. True loving is meant to be & comes natural.

Usually, this only means they married for the wrong reasons. They only see what they want to see and ignore the truth. Romance never fades only the love!!!
