Or do you like it better when she pays her own way?

I should have made it clear that I was talking about money in my last question; you all gave good answers there, but you were talking about emotional support.

CLIFFIE: I was mostly talking about being able to support HERSELF . . . but, hey, I guess that works fine. By the way, thanks for playing my theme song earlier. ;)

HOPSCOTCH: What if feminism has had no effect on her and she just doesn't want to be beholden to any man? Even women who don't identify as feminists can prefer taking care of themselves.

CASSIUS: I hope you also think that MEN should only work when they have a calling.

All ideology aside, today's economy would assure women needing to pay there own way.

Equality of opportunity and just plain realities of the day would compel a women of honor to pay her own way.

I was married twice and dichotomous to this question, I really prefer a woman who pulls her own weight financially.

Of course, a woman shouldnt have the double burden of working and beeing a mom. That doesnt mean Iam in favour of the current divorce laws, which cheat a man out of everything he worked for and keeps supporting through court ordered payments, with no fault of his own.
Id like to keep her out of work for the simple reason that the laws of demand and supply hurt market prices for labour, making it hard for families to support themselfs on one income. Yes women earn MORE now, but for some reason they are oblivious to things like inflation and if you take that into account, an average double income family earns less on 2 paychecks than an average family of the 60s did on one. I feel women should only work if they feel a calling and its their deep desire, like beeing a scientists artist etc.. If they have no real ambition they should stay out of it. Nobody dreamed to be a store manager when he grows up. I feel thats the ideal middle way between protecting salaries and by extension the choice to be a single income family and giving women choice and options.
Sadly the big money won, as it always does and suckered women into working so that a family gets the money it used to get on one income on 2 and the stress of juggling work and childrearing as an bonus.

I think your question is vague...

I mean if everything is equal, and she earns her own pay, why does she need me to pay for her ? I could understand if I earn more, and we're not married that I should out of etiquette be paying for more...

So, are you asking if men would prefer the more traditional method where a man works and a woman takes care of the home and raises the children ?

I guess my answer would be that a feminist pays her way (she wants everything equal, so she can earn her own money), a more traditional woman doesn't as she earns her keep while I'm earning an income, so we'd split what I earned...

I'd want an equal, not to be some womans 'sugar daddy'...

My answer was mostly about money. I wish my wife made lots and I could be a kept man, but alas it is not so.

If there are any wealthy ladies in the north FL/south GA area, who would like to be considered for a role as my sugar mama, please contact me. Attractiveness requirements will be inversely proportional to financial status.

Yes I do. But I am not offended when she has made more money than me. I didn't gripe about it and she didn't rub it in or belittle me when she made more. So now that I make more she doesn't gripe and I don't rub it in either. But I like being the main bread winner.

I say a man should pay *most of the time* but it is proper at certain times (if she insists) on letting her pay||

I like it more when women aren't uptight about the possibility of being taken care of financially

It says a lot about her character & whether or not she has a head full of feminist indoctrination.

I like when a man has enough proper etiquette to "offer" to pay, in the dating stages.
Once in a relationship...two incomes is ideal, IMO.

Definitely, makes you feel important and needed, unless she goes on a shopping spree, then I'm all about financial independence.

I like to bring home the cash, but, she have every right to go to work if she choose to do so. As long as she is obedient and I see dinner on my table every time I come home from work; then it's all good.
