This is how much I need to save to retire a millionaire according to a calculator I used. Any ideas on how to come up with the extra cash in a legal fashion?

Spending less will accomplish the same thing and may be easier. Deliver pizza one night a week or earn a raise at work. Combine methods and end up a billionaire instead. Invest aggressively and time will take care of much of it for you once you have a foot in the door.

Pay Yourself first:
My first suggestion would be for you to sit down and write down ALL you monthly expenses. Typically you can find this information on your bank statements. Subtract your total expenses from your income. Typically, you have an extra $72 left over from you pay after your expenses. If not, look at what expenses you can cut back on such as that morning starbucks coffee, extra services on your cable bill, cigarettes, etc. Then have this money automatically withdrawn from your checking account into your savings.
My second suggestion to you would be to automatically deduct this $72 from your paycheck on a monthly basis. You can have this money directly deposited into your savings and therefore you never touch it. Whats better, once you divide the money up between paychecks you wont even miss the money. For instance, if you get paid bi-weekly, you can have $36 taken from you paycheck and deposited into your savings ($36 x 2 = $72). If you get paid weekly then you can have $18 deducted from each paycheck ($18 x 4 = $72). These amounts are so low that you wont even miss the money. Talk to your HR department about getting this arrangement set up. Its generally pretty easy.
You could also get another job or open a business. But i'm willing to bet that if you dig hard enough, the money is already in your pocket.
Hope this helps.

I would think 72 dollars a week would be a reasonable amount to save. Maybe start by clipping coupons (I save at least $4 a week), don't eat out as much (if you do at all), don't buy snacks or drinks from vending machines, gas stations or Starbucks (buy these at the store ahaead of time and save). Also consider using generics rather than brand name goods.
Everything above is all about nickel and diming expenses but it adds up.
Bigger savings come with bigger sacrifices - like switching to basic cable.
Work to pay off any credit card debt and then use that money toward savings.
$72 would be an average savings goal but any reduction in spending would allow you to save more. If you pay off debts, reduce expenses and increase earnings (over time) you can save more than your goal.

You cant make money without spending money. Trust me. If you get into a site where you dont have to pay to join but you'll get paid after joining. yOu'll either not make money or you will make about 30¢ a day. Try going to www.themoneytree777.com and check it out. It only cost you $7 to join and if all else fails -- you'll get your money back. You can set your own "how much to make by when" goals but we set a personal goal to help you get AT LEAST $300,000 by the first week in June 2008 -- give it a try. If you sign-up -- when it asks you for a Referrer ID -- put in "Admin on Answers"
IT'S LEGIT AND LEGAL!!!!!!!

Ask for a raise ... or better yet find $72 a week or $288 a month that you are spending on something now and cut it out of your budget (a second car you are paying on or something like that.)

go get a job that pays you $6.00 per hr and work 12 hours a week. Or any combination of $ per hrx hrs worked that comes up to $72.00 per week. In short, get a job.
