I know that UPS does not deliver on weekends, but do they transfer packages from warehouse to warehouse on weekends?

yes they do. That's how the package you shipped on friday gets to its destination on monday. Otherwise you couldn't do a next business day transaction on fridays.

All the shippers move packages 7 days a week. If they didn't, they'd have so many packages they'd have to double the size of their buildings.
