a few days ago, me and my family went to dinner with another family. near the end of th night, the man started talking about how he hates Indians, but he also said that the younger generation doesn't. at one point i, being a Pakistani, was also this racist and horrible, but not anymore. I've also met some Indians like this, and Pakistanis. India and Pakistan are so close together in culture, and it has been only 50 years since we separated. so, do you think this hate of the other country is alright, or normal, and what do you think of it?

I don't think that this kind of hatred for the other country is right, but unfortunately it seems to be the norm. I'm not sure why, but countries that have had close ties that used to be one country hatred and racism on both sides seems to follow. The best thing to do is not perpetuate the cycle. Tolerance and understanding can start with just one person. Good for you that you have seen the light and no longer subscribe to such beliefs.

It has only been 50 years since Gandhi was killed, I thought it was longer. In some ways they are the same which you may not like but that is how I see them. Now before someone gets all bent out of shape, I have mixed ancestry and part of my family is black. I'm a Indian-Jew, so if anyone can talk about other races it should be me. As an American the situation in Pakistan and Iraq scare me because I can not see a good outcome for either.

Many sensible people like you feel that something should be done to improve relations of two major countries of South Asia. But India being larger has greater responsibility to create an atmosphere of peace and amity in the region. Position on the ground is that India is a bully in the block. Not only Pakistan, but Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have to bear the burnt of her arrogance.

Indian leadership conspired with the British colonists to deprive Kashmiris of right of selef determinatiion. This has upset Muslims of not only Pakistan, but also the whole world.
But India is hardly prepared to make any concession on her
tough stance on Kashmir.

The other irritant is India's ill-treatment of Muslims. Nearly 200 Million Muslims live in India. Her successive governments have let loose a reign of terror on Muslims. They are not given proper representation in the development and jobs and are subjected to genocide, every other year. The massacre in Gujrat State took 2000 lives, yet the racist
public voted the culprit chief minister again to power.

Indians would talk with you sweetly but their hearts are filled
with poision. As long as this mentality does not change the relations between two largest nations, cannot improve.

This is not normal among most people, but it is normal among people from islamic societies. Islam has poisoned the minds of most Pakistanis and filled them with hatred. We saw this on display last week when muslims murdered Bhutto. Islam is not a race, it is an ideology. This issue is not one of race, it is one of hatred, a hatred fostered by islam as outlined in the koran, a book that tells muslims to beat their wives (4:34), and to kill non-muslims, who they refer to as "infidels" and "kaffirs" (8:12 and many other verses). Wake up and smell the jihad...
