Is the Nintendo DS worth the money? Good quality? Fun? Is it a good game system for girls? What are the best girl games?

The DS is a great system, well worth the money for both boys and girls. I really wouldn't say the games are particularly geared towards girls or boys. Some are "kiddie games", but overall, there are tons of different kinds of games that you may enjoy depending on what you are into.
There are a number of puzzle games that are great for all ages and both sexes. Puzzle Quest (which is something like Bejeweled if you ignore the RPG element), Tetris, Meteos.
There are, of course, the Brain games like Brain Age, Big Brain Academy and a rash of copycats.
There are simulation games like The Sims 2, Sims 2: Castaway, My Sims, Nintendogs etc.
Some other games you may enjoy are:
Final Fantasy III
Phoenix Wright, Ace Attourney
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Tales of Phantasia (it's actually for Gameboy Advance, but it's playable on the DS and well worth a look.)

The DS is amazing and is worth the money, they have "ALOT" of games for the DS, that girls would like, but the games are not really gender specific

For a girl buy a nintendo DS and get nintendogs

the DS is an incredible system, and has many great games
as for girl games, i don't know what that is - there is no genre "girls"
what type of games do you like? i'm sure the DS has some that you'll like
maybe trauma center is to your liking - you get to be a surgeon
maybe phoenix wright will allow you to be a slueth/lawyer
perhaps you will farm and get married in harvest moon?
maybe you'll help link save the ocean king
perhaps you'll help mario save the princess
who knows, maybe you'll play animal crossing, build a nice house, collect bugs/fossils, fish, and make friends in the neighborhood
for all i know, you'll play nintendogs, and have a pet dog that you can train, feed, play with
hey, it's possible you'll even try to help your memory and exercise your brain with titles like "brain age" "big brain academy" "brain age 2" "flash focus" "brain boost alpha or gamma"
maybe you'll have a team of monsters to attack wild animals, fight against other people, and even breed them in either "pokemon diamond or pearl" or "dragonquest monsters: joker"
i don't know what games you'll play - but the DS probably has games you'll like

mario party ds its a good and fun game for girls and guys
plus you can play with 3 other people with just one game cartridge (mario party ds)

Good games are cooking mama ,master chef,fashion designer,babz, and animalz those games are awsome for anyone who likes cookind,fashion.babysitting,or animals and a ds is so worth it to buy i wanted one so bad that i had to make the money myself!

there are some fun games on it, but if you are home a lot i think its better to get a full console than the portable.
Cooking mama seems pretty stupid when you look at it, but that game is a LOT of fun. My BF played it a lot.
Nintendogs is fun.
There are a few little RPGs, and puzzle games if you like puzzle games.

My daughter and her friends have gone nuts for Dogz. My son got her the horses one for Christmas but she said it was a bit difficult to figure out - actually I think she is just hooked on Dogz already..

Lol, dont buy games on the grounds that there for "girls" just buy them because theyre good games.
