When I was about 6 or 7 years old (early 80s), there was a cartoon that played between shows on our local PBS station. It was about a boy who had a terrible nightmare and the nightmare was animated during the cartoon, as if we were experiencing it too. The only part I remember is when the ceiling light turned into an eye watching him and a blade appeared, hung by a string attached to the ceiling light. The blade swung like a pendulum, getting lower to his bed. It was really creepy. At the end when he woke up, I think he sat up in bed and smiled, and maybe the sun was shining rays or something in the window. The cartoon was probably made pre-80s, but I saw it in the early 80s. Anyone know of this? Thanks!

Also, does anyone remember a safety cartoon (not sure if it was tongue in cheek) where one part shows two guys talking, then I think a train comes by, and hits one of them, and his severed, but talking head, is on the ground?

There was an old toon called Little Nemo in Sluberland, but I don't think that is the one you are asking about. Try this: go to Toonopedia (much better for our purposes than wiki) and go through the listings. Sooner or later you will find it there.

Enjoy!
