I mean, since it really isn't a stain and there won't be any stain remover to get it out, why not just make a dye to color the red back to the original carpet color. Does anything like this exist?

What do you mean you can't dye something to a lighter color? Intentional or not doesnt make a difference. They obviously dyed the carpet the light color that it is at the factory so don't tell me you can't dye something a light color. I'll try one of those dye kits. Thanks...

Well, I've never tried it but a friend did and it worked on her darker coloured carpet....those dye-rite dye kits come in lots of colours, you can try using those. Put it on the carpet, let it set and then wash up using an old cloth and water. I don't know how well it would work on lighter carpets...but since it's already ruined, it can't hurt.

The difference between stain and dye is that to dye something is intentional and a stain is an accident. You cannot " dye " something to a lighter color. You can lighten it by bleaching.
