i had a mazda rx 7 and 2 hondas. they were both great but all things concerned about autos i would get another honda hands down for many reasons.

I had a bad experience with a Mazda 626, the Mazda's transmission seem to slip a lot so, I would say the Honda civic is better, they last longer and are very reliable

A good condition used Civic will last a long time. The 626 is one of a few cars that I wouldn't buy from Mazda. I've read somewhere before that they have auto transmission problems. Maybe consider a Protege instead if you want to buy a Mazda.

if i was given a choice id choose the Mazda over the Honda,i just like the way the Mazda drives and runs a lot better than the Honda does,both are good cars but the Mazda i think will out last the Honda if you take care of it,good luck and have a good new years,

Both of them are pretty iffy. But if you have to choose one of two not very good cars, by far and away.. the Honda is your best bet. Even tho the Honda is also crap, it is a million times better than the Mazda.

The mazda is worth less than the honda generally. especially with fewer miles. But without having either car checked out, its hard to say.

Although both cars in question are not the greatest, I would go with the 626.
Although, I would really recommend a VW. Especially a Jetta or Passat, if you're looking for a sedan.

my mom has a 2000 626 and it works great. Honda is also terrific EXCEPT NEVER GET A DX. get LX or EX. DX is the worst type of honda to get

Well, the Mazda is a little faster and the Hondas are boring. The 626s have much nicer interiors than the DX, but the DX is boring. No one knows which corners better, but the Mazda corners well and nobody cares about the Honda. They both last a long time but people care with the Mazda. OTOH, Honda owners hope they'll quit. Hondas are dull with a capitol boring. I had a Honda Civic with a four valve CVCC and a 5 speed. Gotta be fun right? Wrong, Dull. Sold in a month. Got a 626 now.
