"The hottest year since 1880 becomes 1934 instead of 1998, which is now just second; 1921 is third."
"Last week, NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies -- whose temperature records are a key component of the global-warming claim (and whose director, James Hansen, is a sort of godfather of global-warming alarmism) -- quietly corrected an error in its data set that had made recent temperatures seem warmer than they really were"
Temperatures in the 1900's fell while CO2 increased. 1998 was not the hottest year on record.

Because of recently launced satellites, we now know the sun's temperature is changing constantly.

Many English schools are now forbidden from playing "An Inconvenient Truth" in classrooms. There are over 10 misleading mistakes in the movie.
( NASA data has shown minute changes in the can change the temperature of the earth dramatically. In fact, NASA has proven the sun caused the world to leave the great ice age in less than 20 years. That is extremely fast from a geological standpoint.
The ice age ended with glacier and ice covered Canada and the upper U.S. melting. Melting ice from cycles of ice ages carved the grand canyon and carved undersea canyons in the Gulf of Mexico. )

Also, NASA data has proved that the "Little Ice Age" during medieval times was caused by less light reaching the earth ("solar variability", which means changes in the sun). NASA's data about the little ice age: http://tinyurl.com/227h3p (This data can be copied and pasted it into Excel to chart it.)
Other facts:
1) 6,000 years ago, the earth was hotter than it is today. There were no Hummers around back then.
2) 140,000 years ago the earth had record CO2 levels and there were no gasoline powered cars.
3) The temperature of the Earth has only increased by 0.65 of a degree in the last 110 years. There were faster increases in temperatures around 10,000 years ago and there were no gasoline powered cars during that time.
4) Strong hurricanes are normal. Hundreds of years ago, they used to sink ships off of the coast of Florida.

USA Today recently printed an article about Japan's record temperature in 1933. NASA's corrected data shows the greatest temperature was in the U.S. was in 1934. Japan's records are separate from NASA's records and both have similar figures.

NASA: "Rapid changes between ice ages and warm periods (called interglacials) are recorded in the Greenland ice sheet. Occurring over ONE OR TWO DECADES [10 or 20 years] , the warming of the Earth at the end of the last ice age happened much faster than the rate of change of the Earth’s orbit."

It's not about facts or truth, it about feelings and emotion so they can keep up the hysteria and try to raise taxes. At the same time they'll be flying around the country in multi million dollar jets buring millions of gallons of jet fuel, but it's ok cause they'll tell you what light bulbs you can have and not allow you to drive to work.
Why are liberals quoting Bush as if what he says is true here, but in other posts calling him a liar and an idiot? Make up your minds.

Okay, I think global warming IS over-rated, but you can't just dispute all of it as untrue. First off, Mount Everest is shrinking due to hotter temps. The polar ice caps are melting at a very fast rate....and it is not because the sun is getting hotter....if the sun were getting hot enough to melt all the polar ice caps, I think we would be dead in the next couple years. It IS because we are dumping so many chemicals and toxins into the atmosphere and it is trapping hotter air in. I am not saying this because of a political affiliation, I don't really support any party because they all lie...but scientists are really worried about this...and they aren't lying. I watched an inconvenient truth. I couldn't stand Gore's political garbage he threw in there (which made it very un-enjoyable to watch...though I'm no longer a republican it is still irritating that he can't make a movie without complaining about the 2000 election) but he did have a lot of fact in there.

Global warming has not been "proven wrong" and can't be--it is an established and confirmed fact. And all the BS from junk scienc websites and "deniers" won't change that one bit.
And, FYI, energy efficiency saves consumers money. Alternative enrgy systems are a growth industry tha tis already creating thousands of jobs annually--which the fossil fuel industry does not. enrgy conservation reduces business costs. And so on.
The only "damage" is to the profits of the fossilfuel industry. Pardon me if I'm not overly concerned about them--their product and technology is obsolete and shuld have been scrapped years ago.

wow good argument....I agree with you. It's a natural process that we may be speeding up. Thats it no matter what we do it won't stop. It's inevitable. Why don't people understand that it's not those hummers that are causing the sea levels to rise it's volcanoes and the strength of the sun!!!!!

It is still up for debate; there is no doubt our environment is being damaged. I don't need so-called experts to tell me that. Fly over a smog-ridden city, check out the polluted lakes and streams, take a gander at the overflowing landfills, nuclear plant spent fuel rod open pools, etc. CO2 Global Warming or Not - It is the same fix. Protect that which sustains life - the alternative is not pretty.

20 years ago when i used to drive my semi through parts of California, and Denver, and other parts of the country i would see the brown air when coming into the city's!!!
even then there were smog alerts warning people to stay in if they had respiratory problems,. somethin had to be done, they enforced stricter emissions controls!!!
ya, the top dogs in the auto industry complained, but things were done!!!
but i think the way bush let big business in and opened the doors wide open for them, then he turned around and admitted that things needed to be done!!!!
someone or something he saw made him change his attitude!!!
and he's known for his "stayin the course"

Get your facts straight. In Britain "An inconvenient Truth" cannot be shown in schools without the disclaimer that a couple of items contained in it cannot be conclusively proven.
Your statement is more neocon distortion of the truth and simple lies.

how do you explain all the scientists... who are well aware of your "facts" (which the way you present them are more like half-truths)... yet still believe it does?
weird?
I guess it's all just a conspiracy... right?
and here's another fact that you guys can't seem to wrap your mind around:
just because the Earth does have natural warming cycles, it doesn't mean that's IS what we are going through for sure...

I hope they stay on message its already seriously damaging their credibility.
I expect the whole non-sense to be conclusively shown to be false within the next 5 years. And I wonder if the Nobel prize people are going to make Gore return his prize.
