Were you repeatedly hit in anger as a child? Do you have some parts of your memory you just don't want to remember? Do you feel that the bad things done to you as a child are your fault? I was myself a victim of child abuse, and these were some of the signs I experienced.

You can call 911 if you or the child is in immediate danger. If a child is being abused and you want to report it, call child protective services. It's usually in the blue pages in the state section under "child" or "children." If you're an adult in an abusive situation, you can call the police, call a domestic violence agency, or just leave on your own.

Report it, and if that doesn't work report it to someone else. Your best bet is to either report it to the police or child protective services. You can also report it to any school official, or any adult you trust. just keep reporting it until you receive action. Make sure the abuse is real though.

If you are under 18, contact a mandated reporter at your school...a teacher, principal, guidance counselor, or nurse...in some big cities, there are also police officers assigned to the schools.Tell them what has happened to you or your friend, and they are required by law to make sure that it gets fixed.

all the answers are right. police --- there are some restrictions on how soon you need to report it, but with children, it is different. the timelines are different -- report it right away. it always helps to tell someone, obviously, since you are starting to get help now by asking this question. i hope everyon's answers, including this one, have helped you with your tough decision. always difficult to report a family member --- fear of not being believed is hard to get over, but you will be surprised at people's reactions -- they will believe. someone close - their first reaction is denial - almost always - especially if they put you in that situation, but they will come around to acceptance too.

Well if your parents spanked you because you were being a bratt then no it's not child abuse, however if they beat you and smak you frequently or call you dumb or an idiot very very frequently for no apperent reason then that is child abuse. But if you just choose to act dumb and not listen and they call you an idiot then it's your fault.
