Horizontal or Vertical Blinds?

The first thing I would try, is to tie an additional length of string onto the existing cord.

If these are horizontal blinds it may be fairly inexpensive to just replace them. It IS possible to restring any blind, if youve got the patience, hehe

And perhaps the next time it'd be a good idea to make the cord short enough it doesnt drag the floor... or use a hook to hold it up (or teach someone how a vacuum is supposed to be used, hehehe)

Need to explore something here tho.... most horizontal blinds are closed by turning a rod...and most vertical blinds are closed by using the chain...not the cord. Perhaps you mean you can't get the blind fully extended across the opening? (an actual 'cord' is used for this in both applications, and if so, as mentioned, I'd try extending or replacing it)

Have Fun

you may have to look at getting new blinds. replacing the string in horizontal blinds is a real nightmare if you can find the right string.
