You don't have to find these on your own. If you submit your FAFSA form, the financial aid people at the school you apply to will include whatever you are eligible for in your financial aid package.

Here is some information on FAFSA (free applicaiton for federal student aid) With FAFSA you can apply for government grants and student loans. It is based on what level of school you are considered to be at. Student loans are not credit or income based. The only thing that can hinder you from receiving student loans is if you had defaulted on a previous student loans. Everyone is able to apply for student loans. Here are the award levels If you have completed 0-25 credits you can take out $3,500 in sub and $6,000 in unsub. If you have completed 24-47 credits you can take out $4,500 in sub and $6,000 in unsub If you have completed 48+ credits you can take out $8,500 in sub and $12,000 in unsub. Graduate students can take out $20,000 The second part of F/A is Pell Grant. This is income based. You can receive up to $4,700 a year. All loans are differed until 6 months after you graduate or take your last class. They can be paid back in a span of ten years(monthly payments) Subsidized loan money- interested paid by government while you are in school. Unsub- interest not paid by government On your fafsa they will ask if you want to take out only what you need for tuition or the full amount. If you take out the full amount and there is more then need to pay for school the rest is sent back to you in a stipend check. It is up to the school when they send the stipend. Most send at semester time. www.fafsa.ed.gov www.pin.ed.gov

Dear 1happymom,
All school funding must submit a FAFSA form. This will determine your financial needs. Check with financial office for other methods of educational financing. In Texas, teacher, nurses and female doctoral students have a good chance to get "free" money because of the demand. Good-luck

Apply for FAFSA as soon as possible beginning Jan. 1st. Most grants (federal, state, and university) are distributed first come first served according to when you completed your FAFSA application.

When you complete your FAFSA application you are automatically considered for grants.
