The fuel pump is mechanical and is operated by a cam in the engine block. The cam is lubricated by the oil. The fuel pump has a diaphragm made of a rubbery type material. The diaphragm has obviously failed. You need a new fuel pump. Also check your oil. Typically a failure like that will allow gasoline to enter the oil and can destroy the bearings. Don't drive the car until you get it fixed and change the oil and filter after replacing the pump.

How much oil did you put in? Most of the time the pump will leak oil when the diaphragm ruptures. Shouldn't smoke out the exhaust. Did the oil go in really slow like the drain holes in the head are all plugged up?

is this coming out the little hole on the pump could be a bad diaphram inside the pump cant fix it replace the pump and empty out some of the oil with a suction pump and recheck the level you could remove the filter(oil) and drain out the quart it holds and install a new oil filter;.hope this helps your fuel pump i beleive is driven from the engine with the arm of the pump into the engine when the diaphram breaks with to much oil in the engine it goes to the path of least resistance

The injection system supplies fuel required for combustion at constant pressure to the injectors. Fuel is metered and injected into the intake manifold according to signals from the Engine Control Unit (ECU). In general, the system consists of the fuel pump, fuel filters, delivery pipe, pulsation damper, pressure regulator, fuel injectors, fuel pump switch and circuit opening relay. On the 1988-89 turbocharged 323 (with 4WD) and MX-6 (with 4WS), there is also a fuel transfer pump built into the system. The fuel pump is mounted inside the fuel tank to reduce the operating noise that is characteristic of electric fuel pumps. The fuel injectors are supplied with direct battery voltage by the main relay, while the ECU varies ground for operation. Fuel injector connectors on these systems are color coded to distinguish turbocharged from non-turbocharged injectors.

if your fuel pump diapram is leaking ,gas will leak on the small hole on the bottom of the pump,,,

if you over fill the oil ,there is a possibility that oil will come out of the small hole

over fill will cause your problem

have a compression test on your car.

Is the fuel pump mechanical, could be a bad gasket

otherwise I don't know how oil could be coming from it

You probably have bad rings, if you see blue smoke

maybe if you thicken the oil, it might help, get some engine honey

Wait 'till the motor is cold and the check the oil. You probably overfilled it. If so, drain it. If that's not it, it's probably a fuel pump, but I doubt it.

Sounds like you overfilled your oil. This will cause problems. Drain some of the oil out if it is overfilled.

What color is the smoke? Is it white? You might also have a bad head gasket.
