Kilts are purely preference, not a total change from trousers. When people fear them, they are actually fearing their own unresolved sexual issues about possibly being gay and/or transgendered. Otherwise, what's the big deal for others who might want to try a Kilt? It should be respected.

Suzie, so with that reasoning, no one outside of Texas should be allowed to wear boots and cowboy hats?
Only women can wear dresses and skirts?
Men are to only wear pants/trousers?
Isn't the best thing about being an American, is being able to be an American? Diverse, and free? The Kilt is the ultimate freedom for a guy, even in American terms, not forced to tartan symbols as they are mere talismen.
Sounds like you have some gender discrimination going on, real double standards.

Thats because a lot of Americans and Canadians are of Scottish descent and there are obviously bigger amounts of Canadians and Americans than there is of scots. American kilts should be banned. The kilt is the scots.
The American kilt looks like a skirt. To me a kilt ain't a kilt unless its got tartan in it
