I moved to maine as a single parent with a friend. We got a 3 bedroom apartment and it was fine. He stareted acting strange and slept wouldnt get out of bed then he just packed up and left me the 3 bedroom place. He was on the lease but said he didnt have to pay. I didnt know any one here and it got to the point i had to move because i couldnt pay it all by myself i had no other choice. With that on my record now will i still be able to rent?

It depends on who you want to rent from. Private individuals often don't do credit checks so what you don't tell them they won't know... On the other hand, rental agencies have their own policies. Some will still rent to you, but with a higher security deposit (usually 2-3 times the normal month's rent) while others will flat out deny you until that eviction is off your credit history...

Instead of finding a way to dispose of your trash, you stored it in your garage until it rotted so badly that you could not stand the odor ? And then you used that as an excuse to break your lease ? Oh my. You were evicted because you broke the lease and didn't pay what was owed until later. That eviction will stay on your credit report for seven years at a minimum. Next time, use your head.

yes, depending on the state. most states you can give the new landlord a list of reasons why you were evicted they factor that in. some states allow you to pay a higher deposit and still accept you other states require high deposit and two months rent or first and last month. some states also will say it is okay if you can prove income 3 times the amount your rent will be. and if the eviction is in a totally different state, chances are that they wont find out!.. especially if done within 6 months. always get the new place before moving out of where you are at.. if your at a friends you are ok..

Well anyway where you given the paper work for the eviction? And was just your name on it?
If they served just you then you can have it removed. Because they must serve all parties in a unlawful. And as far as the lease goes the lease is still in all names as your old roommates. Maybe your room mate was fired from there job and went into deep depression. This can happen.
Well to get back to your problem. Some places will except you while others will not.

I know someone who once was evicted because she was also a single parent and couldn't afford the rent, and she was in a new apartment (acutally right across the street from the old one) within a few weeks. She has now lived there for probably 10 or 11 years. Best wishes to you!

Its going to be tough but did you move out without notice or were you actually evicted... If you moved out the chances are it did not go on your credit as an eviction cause they did not have to take you to court to get you to move, If you did get evicted then yes it will be more difficult to rent unless you find something that does not require a credit check..... by the way i am a Apt. Manager

It might be harder for you to rent, but you should be able to rent elsewhere. Hurry and get a new place before your eviction is reported and establish a positive rental pattern, and your other incident will probably be overlooked. We all go through hard times. Keep looking until you find something.

Sorry to hear what ur roommate did to u. Sure u will be able to rent again. When u rent again the landlord will make a credit check just to make sure u are able to make the monthly payments. Check ur credit online and see what u neet to fix or change to increase ur credit score. If u want u can take ur roommate to small claims court and get what he owes.

if you were evicted it's probably a matter of public record. if you broke the lease by moving, it may or may not be. you'll find out by applying somewhere else and seeing what happens. anyway, there will be people who are willing to rent to you if you explain what happened, but you'll need to pay perhaps a larger deposit as you're a higher risk.

That will be up to your new Landlord. Some have a heart and you may be able to convince him through your honesty that you are a responsible person.
Do not bite off more than you can chew yourself. Get responsible. You can build your own good reputation.
