If it makes sense to us why not our congress. You know so many small towns lost industry that went out of the country and there is nothing, but welfare. like they say lettuce, if you pay someone a decent wage just pass it on. I don't know what they pay the folks that harvest it now, but if it's $7 an hour, then kick it up to $10 a hour and pass it on. It they do 10 heads an hour, then pass the 3 cents a head on to the grocery. Everyone makes out. In my state their are people who need jobs and most have to drive like 60-70 miles and with gas like it is its insane.

Bring back the business. how much profit must they make?

Stellar answers by the way, you should all be in the cabinet next term and I know ift would make a difference considering what we have had for decades.

No, Hon. One really has nothing to do with the other.
Our economy will FLOURISH if we quit bring in the "cheap Chinese stuff", as you say, because we'll recreate more manufacturing right here in the United States. The economic boost will be for an obvious reason; Americans will regain the good-paying manufacturing jobs, millions of them, that have been lost during the Bush and Clinton administrations.
NAFTA is one of the main reasons that Mexicans are flowing over our southern border. When so-called "free trade" went into effect between the U.S and Mexico, produce from American mega-farms poured into Mexico, and the much smaller Mexican farms couldn't compete. So, where do you suppose all those unemployed Mexican farm workers went?
You got it!

In the short term the economy would suffer, approximately 6 months to 3 years. The effects of immigrants leaving the country are: much needed wage inflation, plentiful employment, less crime, less babies being born to American mothers, and more people speaking English.
If we quit bringing in Chinese goods, they will quit floating our national debt. That would ensure dire consequences. For we have destroyed our entire economic base and allowed all industries for which we have been the leaders of to be taken over by many different foreign powers.

Absolutely false. If all the Illegals leave, if Wal-Mart quits importing from China, our economy will become much stronger. After all, in the case of China, much of tax-payer money goes to China so they can sell us all that crap. As to the Illegals, not only do they get free medical care and all that, on top of everything else they send $30,000,000,000 back home every year.
As to your question, this is something the Liberals want people to believe, because they like to hire people, pay them wages, but not provide any retirement, health care or anything else. Of course, the public picks up the tab.

The Illegals are no longer paying taxes, nor do they could desire to if and while they grow to be a citizen. they are exempt for a quantity of time, and what do you recommend they are not getting advantages? they are utilising our healthcare gadget, thats a income, I agree there are various voters that are a drain on society, yet what approximately those sort of illegals that are right here, that have toddlers in our country, there baby are entitled to welfare, so in turn the unlawful dad and mom get it. They get so lots greater advantageous than you talk of. they are o.k. off in this country and that they a techniques from artwork for low wages. lots do, yet alot make greater advantageous than you and that i mixed. I lived with it for form of three years. they could come into my espresso save 4-5 situations an afternoon attempting to purchase a $3 espresso and paying with a $a hundred invoice, so they could get exchange. Why? using fact they could no longer circulate to a financial company, and open an account using fact they have been unlawful. i think of they could desire to all be sent living house, and in the event that they choose to come again, they won't be convicted of any crimes, and then we initiate letting the trustworthy good ones in.

Depends who you ask. From the perspective of the companies, the economy will not suffer because people will just have to pay more, and they'll still be competing on equal footing with each other, so their profits should remain about the same. From the perspective of the consumers, prices will go up. From the perspective of the workers, it's a mixed bag.

Do Norway, Japan, Singapore, Germany, Costa Rica, Brazil or any of the other hundred-plus nations enforcing immigration law and supporting their own domestic economies suffer? Not much! Prices and taxes are higher. But, on the balance, they're much better off.

How can we suffer for solely taking care of ourselves?
Now, think about it. It will create more jobs in America. If one factory we use employed up to 1,000 in China and we quit them, our need would create 1,000 jobs in let's say Detroit. That's alot of jobs.

Too bad, we'll never stop trade. America would be a totally bettter place to live.

probably. i live in florida, and the illegals boost the economy here. they send alot of money to mexico, but they spend alot here too. 2 or 3 families live in the same house, so the landlords can get the rent they ask for. cars are sold, repoed and sold again, so the dealers are making money. every convenience store is owned by people from india. they are given the funds they need and the economy is set up for them. you can thank our congressmen and senators for this. they have represented everyone but us.

It would unquestionably be a difficult period of transition, to end our trade deficit, end GATT, NAFTA and other free trade agreements, end offshoring of jobs, and to end rampant illegal immigration and secure our borders.

But we would get through it, and we would still be the United States when it's over and done.
If we don't stop illegals, if we continue to "offshore" jobs and let China gut our industrial base, we won't be.
