Buses that talk?

In my city the buses have an automated voice that names of the main streets as the bus passes them.
I've been up front near the driver and never see them pressing any kind of button to make this happen.
If you have those types of buses in your city..any idea how it's done?

I have them, it's a program that they run at the start of their route. If you'll notice, it doesn't always match up. You'll be on X street but the voice will say that you're on Y street.

I have them in Chicago.
I believe they are pre programmed
