They are your child for life but you have them in your womb for such a short time. Some women let it pass with complaint instead of awe (not referring to you - this is a valid question). I enjoyed every move because we lost 9 babies and were very scared with our last pregnancy.

As much as I loved the movement there were times that IT HURT!. You can try to get her to find a new position. One thing that helped me was to get on my hands and knees and arch my back like a cat and then let my back sway like a mule. He would sometimes find a new place to kick that wasn't quite as painful. Sometimes the only comfortable place for me to sleep was in a recliner with tons of pillows propping up all sorts of parts of my body! :-)

Treasure this brief time but I do hope you find some relief.

Well, I just started feeling mine kick yesterday so it hasn't been bad. But, when my SIL was pregnant, her son kicked her in the back so hard she would be down on the ground unable to get up. The doctor wouldn't do anything for her. This happened at least once a week.

Good luck, I hope it gets better!

YES! My "Mover and roller" was extremely active... when asked for fetal counts (movements in either 10 minutes, or how long it takes to get to 10 movements....), I took 10 seconds to get to 10 movements. My midwife chastised me and told me to only count the "major" movements. When I asked her want she meant by "major" she said, "Big kicks, rolls or flips." I told her, "YEP, 10 seconds!" His cord was the longest anyone at the birth had ever seen - at 36 inches from cut to placenta. As a mother and a student midwife, I would highly encourage you to have a sonogram to check where that cord is though. Most sonograms can't tell for sure, but check with your doctor. If you have a very ACTIVE baby, cord accidents are more likely to happen, and it's better to be able to see WHERE that cord is. Also, my "mover and roller" has ADHD pretty badly. That may be another thing to look for after birth. Good luck. Don't mean to scare you... my "mover and roller" is now a happy-go-lucky 18 year old!

I feel ya!!! I am now over due. I went through and still am going through this. I have only found a couple of things to work.
1. Take a warm bath, while in the tub take deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. 4 counts in but 8 counts out. (kind of like lamaze.) And rub gently in slow large circles.
2. After getting out of the tub if your little monster hasn't calmed down drink a cup of hot tea. Slow sips in some candle light if possible. And low music.
I know this sounds ridiculous but trust me I have pictures of bruising from the inside out from this child inside of me and these are the only things that worked for me. I learned from trial and error. Just think if it relaxes you it will eventually relax your baby. GOOD LUCK!!!

Try to take long walks during the day to keep her active and awake then bathe at night trying to relax and hopefully the baby will be exhausted.

Just enjoy it the best you can. I know it hurts, but it's also one of the greatest, most amazing things you'll ever experience in your life. It's also a great sign that you have a healthy, active, alert baby in there. Congratulations!

Yes, it's uncomfortable, but it is much better to feel her moving than not to.
