Franklin Delano Roosevelt's New Deal grossly violated the Constitution. It was the greatest expansion of government under terms not specifically authorized by the Constitution. It was an extremely loose interpretation of the "necessary and proper" clause (also known as the "Elastic Clause").

The Supreme Court repeatedly struck down components of the New Deal, so FDR threatened to pack the court by increasing the number of justices in order to add enough pro-New Deal justices to reverse these decisions. One of the justices panicked, resulting in the "switch in time that saved nine" (the Supreme Court then started supporting the New Deal).

We lost the Constitution when the "switch in time that saved nine" occurred in 1937, for that is when the great expansion of government power of the 20th century began, and frankly, it continues to this day in the 21st century.

Because no one wants to do their job, that's why. If there is money to be made you will have lawyers up to your neck to protect your rights but if there is nothing to gain no one wants to touch it. It's sad but that is what this country has become. It's all about the Benjamen's!
