Truth is sometimes hard to take in the short term but lies can really rip you apart in time. A small white lie like "You look good in that" if they really don't can come back at you if that person is embarrassed because of it. Or if you tell your wife you really like the way she cooked something - guess what your going to be eating their rest of your life.

But honesty is not only what you say but are you true to your word in what you do. If you are people will respect you even when they do not agree with you.

Truth is... it is not always the best policy. Some people just can't handle the truth.

When deciding to be untruthful, you need to weight the odds of the truth coming out versus the consequences if it does.

Yes. Example:

Wife: Honey does my butt look big in this?

Husband: Sure does.

This would not turn out well, therefore, sometimes it is all right to avoid the question, or suggest other possibilities. Or stuff a snickers in your mouth.

My sisters said the same thing to me when they said "How they look." It is true, But I still do it without thinking. I hated when they put makup on and ask me that question knowing I will tell the truth.
