My cousion was told the other day at the doctor's office that she was having twins. You can see there sacks, there's def. 2 of them, but you cant see the babies...there empty sacks. She had the ultrasound at 5 1/2 weeks. She called me crying cause someone told her that she should have seem them by now. Should she have seen them at 5 1/2 weeks??

5 1/2 weeks is a litle early. Plus at this stge she could even be 5 week. 6 weeks + is the usul time to see them, She should be going back for a scan soon. and will no more then.

Tell her not to stress. It is not abnormal to only see gestational sacs before 6 weeks. The doctor should have her back for another ultrasound within a couple of weeks.

At 5 1/2 weeks there is no "baby" per say. I mean there is, but it is so tiny... no fingers no toes nothing... If the doctors say everything is fine then tell her dont worry!! No need for unneeded stress:)

No, that is a little early to see anything. I went for my ultrasound at 6 weeks and we couldn't see anything other than a sack. They had me come back the next week and we could see the fetal pole. Please tell her that she is fine.
