Which time? My dad is about to finish his second career. When I finish this job in 4 or 5 years, I plan to move to the next career, and then the next. I expect to keep active until I die.

Exactly 23 months - 8 days from now. I've saved - always spent less than I make - have been fairly smart with investments - and will be retiring on a comfortable living at age 56.

My friends have always made fun of me for being "cheap" and never buying new cars, avoiding expensive restaurants, and not doing things like going on cruises (though I've always gone on decent vacations) ...... but they're going to work until their 70 and I'm going to be taking it easy (going to the beach when I want and helping out at different non-profits) while they're having to work.

"Cheap" is smart!!! :-)

Nicki and I have the same thing in common. I don't ever plan on retiring. I'm gonna own my own companies so I will always be doing work. Maybe when My kids are older ( When I have them) so maybe 60 I will hand over the business to them.

63.5 probably since I can get COBRA for 18 months then Medicare.
Medical insurance is hard to find without a group plan unless you are in perfect health. So unless I can find affordable health insurance I will work until at least 63.5, that is 4 more years but it will beef up my retirement savings past where I have plenty.

I can retire right now at 56, but I am waiting until I am 62 unless I hit the lottery first. LOL

Expected to be retired now, at 65.
Became guardian of 2 grandchildren whose meth-addicted parents were incapable of caring for them.
Probably will work until I drop now.

With the cost of things and the reduced amount I will get when "retired" due to inflation I guess I also will work till I drop.
