Yea, use Windows movie maker is a free and easy way, but you can not retain animations transitions and audio track that a really PowerPoint should have. Your presentation will be a dull thing.
So here I recommend you use some professional tool like Acoolsoft PPT2Video Converter

Are you running this on a DVD player? Personally if your running on a computer you can still have it run as a presentation by saving it as a Power Point Show .pps Just change the Save as Type that will store all images and files you include in the presentation this way you don't have to worry if the other computer you going to watch it on has power point installed all you need is the free viewer installed on the computer.

Use File > Make Movie.

This feature is Mac only. It has not been ported to Windows PowerPoint yet.
